Lofoten Island - Part I
From the ferry across Andfjorden to the first night along Uttakleivveien, Lofoten announced itself with compressed peaks and shifting light. Passing Hamnøy and Reine for the first time felt both familiar and overwhelming. Between turquoise beaches, restrained coastal architecture, and slow drives toward Tind, the journey settled into a quieter rhythm. This was not an arrival, but a beginning with plans to return under northern skies.

Senja - Part II
Senja continued with quiet explorations and sudden mishaps. From the refined architecture at Tungeneset to Caribbean-colored waters around Bøvær and Bergsøyan, the days were calm and expansive. A fall into a tidal pool ended the life of my Sony A7R V, but not the journey. The following night, guided by experienced photographers, the northern lights danced above the fjord. With that luminous farewell, it was time to board the ferry toward Lofoten.

Senja - Part I - Segla
Before finally heading to Senja, I spent two days in and around Sommarøy, a small fishing village spread across a cluster of low-lying islands connected by bridges. The waters surrounding the village are dotted with countless small islands, creating a fragmented, almost playful coastline. What surprised me most was the colour of the sea. In calm moments, it shifted into shades of turquoise and light blue that felt more reminiscent of the Caribbean than the far north. After th

From Stetind to the Lyngen Alps
Sony A7 RV, Sigma 500mm F5,6 DG DN OS | Sports , Maven Filters Polarizer, Gitzo Systematic Tripod Leaving Stetind behind, the road led me further north into a landscape shaped by fjords and water. For the first time on this journey, ferries became part of the route. Driving the car onto the ferry felt unfamiliar at first, almost unsettling, but quickly turned into a welcome pause. Engines stopped, distances softened, and the landscape revealed itself from the water. Shot on i

Westward: From Abisko to Stetind
On the drive from Abisko toward the Norwegian border, I came across a small, almost hidden place right next to the road. A patchwork of shallow lakes, open tundra, and skeletal trees stretched across the landscape, easy to miss if you weren’t willing to slow down. I stopped without a plan, explored the area in the soft evening light, and decided to stay the night nearby in the camper van. Abisko Nationalpark - Swedish Lapland
I spent four days in Abisko, and from the very beginning it felt like a conscious pause in my journey north toward Norway. After the physical intensity and raw isolation of Sarek, Abisko offered a different rhythm. More accessible, more open, yet still deeply connected to the vastness of the far north. It was a place to stay, not just to pass through. Sony A7 RV, Sigma 100-400mm F5-6,3 DG DN OS | Contemporary, Maven Filters 3 Stop Dark CPL, Gitzo Systematic Tripod Abisko Nati

Swedish Lapland & Sarek Nationalpark
The farther you travel north, the quieter the world becomes. The landscape doesn’t change abruptly, but in a slow, almost imperceptible shift. Forests grow wider, settlements become rarer, and the horizons open up. Lakes appear and disappear again as if they were brief breaths in this ever-deepening silence. And somewhere between those long stretches of road, little hidden gems reveal themselves, places without names or markers, moments impossible to plan. A still lake catchi
